So much so, in fact, that I fully intended to comment on it. Until my brain and keyboard spewed up the following, that is....

*The topic is rique humour and spanking*

Yeah, um. Making fun of serious spanking issues.... TOTALLY agree you have to know your audience. Cause 'keep that up and you'll get a beating' or similar are POPULAR parental phrases... and we never know if they're kidding or not. My mother especially loved to use them, and other similar threats, and then NEVER follow through. Either that, or RANDOMLY follow through... which left me paranoid. Paranoid, and with little sense of humour... which mother got mad about. "can't you take a joke, you (cant remember what she called me, and don't want to make unfair accusations)?" she once asked, after making a joke that I was going to get a beating for bad grades... after what I'd thought was a pretty good end of year report. So,... er, no. Not when I can't tell if you're joking or not, I can't.

Almost got raped once due to joking about serious stuff... well, a guy tried to force himself on me, anyway. I kept saying 'no,' and he finally stopped trying to convince me that it would be fun and i'd enjoy it and stuff.... and it all started cause he made a joke about spanking and I grumbled about hating empty threats. *I was 19 and gullible and stupid at the time, but i'm not sure if that's an excuse) My friends' dads and I had a fairly similar dynamic, only THEY never foced themselves on me cause of it, so I genuinely thought it would be OK to do it with anyone who made that kind of dumb joke, so long as it wasn't my mother. SHE forced herself on me enough as it was.... yeah, I mentioned I'm screwed up tonight. Just ignore that last sentence, it's not important..

Uh, yeah. Joking about safewords... well, let's just say that safewords shouldn't just be for adults. I know it's not a good idea to let a kid who's being really impossible believe it takes one or two apologies and a few fake tears... (and make sure those tears definitely ARE faked before you start throwing about accusations, or you'll train your emotionally fragile child completely OUT of crying, to the point where they believe their medication doesn't work because they can't stop crying for no reason, rather than accepting that crying a bit over a sad story or movie, (or serious personal life issues) is normal... uh, yeah. persoanl experience. sorry for all the ellipses, I don't NORMALLY believe in using that many)... but a kid whos looking at you with terror in their eyes, begging for mercy, and not just trying to swim off your lap, but actually trying to crawl down the side of the bed, so they manage to trap themselves between the bed and the wall... well, you might want to let them safeword, rather than keeping on hitting them. Otherwise, you'll end up hitting their sides and front and shoulders, rather than natures supposedly intended target... again, personatl experience.

dammit, I'm messed up tonight. Must go seek something useful on eBay to cheer self up. Won the cutest little green and blue gingham romper today. Am currently watching a mug. Have been told will be spanked if buy more stuff... oddly enough by both housemates, godmother and psychiatrist.... well, not so much the third. I'm pretty sure he thinks I should be, though, from how sternly he keeps telling me to stop buying stuff on eBay.

Am better able to make jokes about spanking stuff these days... or at least to recognise them. Also know not to try and call anyone's bluff on a spanking joke, cause they might take it as an invite to take more than I could, or would, possibly offer.

uh, yeah. am closing this post, before it gets too depressing... or too weird.

Hugs, Terri

Love our Lurkers day... Life has been pretty up and down for me this past year.

Those of you who have been following what few posts I've done, on my few blogs, will know that I have eye issues, My right eye has rejected a further attempted cornea transplant, and my glaucoma is a little silly, but nothing too bad. Some of you would laso know that I have some other health issues... well, nothing's really changing, although I'd like to know what the Hell borderline personality disorder means.

And I just went off topic, didn't I? I've been following various blogs, commented on a few. I discovered the joys of a few online comics. I found a universe I'm rather fond of. I skype., I read and write various fanfiction. I watch DVDs.... yeah, I'm still off topic, and I ramble a lot.

So, anyway. LOL day. Hi, Bonnie, and thanks for creating LOLday.... um, I don't remember, am I meant to link to you?

Um, yeah, whatever. Anyhow, Happy Love Our Lurkers day. And thanks, Hermione, if I hadn't seen your blog today I'd probably have forgotten about LOLday until next week, or later.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://spankingterri.blogspot.com/2011/11/love-our-lurkers-day-i-got-it-for-once.html' title='Love our Lurkers day... My internet access went and ran out, so I'm sorry. I think I earned a spanking for that one. A

nyhow, the 16th of October is Love Our Lurkers day. So, I'm sending love to any and all lurkers, on any and all blogs. This idea was created by Bonnie of http://bottomsmarts.blogspot.com four years ago. So, we love our lurkers. Leave a comment, if you want. There are several different genres I read, but my favourite has to be fanfiction. I especially love Harry Potter stories, although I'm starting to branch out into other categories.

There's a couple of Yahoo groups that have really great stories, and then there's mainstram fanfiction sites. Fanfiction.net has a wonderful range of stories, all you need to do is enter the word 'spanking' in the search engine. Meanwhile, I can recommend some stories.

Dina Samir's The Painful Guardianship is wonderful, as is a fic called A Time and Place to Grow. I don't remember who wrote that, but you can look for it in the search engine. There's a couple of promising looking M*A*S*H stories. There's stories on House, NCIS, Stargate, CSI, Law and Order and loads of other genres.

I'm even writing stories. Most of them are on the Yahoo groups, but I do have one of ff.net.

It's called Miracles Can Happen, and it's an All Saints fanfic. It really is all about miracles happenning. Rose has a major attitude adjustment, Mitch doesn't die, Victoria is on Mitch and Terri's side, Mitch and Terri have kids, Frank, Dan, Ricky and the others from the ED join Ward 17, (Or maybe 17 moves down to the ED, my muse isn't certain,) the works.

I'm even considering joining another genre of sorts. It was started by Lurking Dragon, a lot of you will know it. The Rejuve Universe. I'm not sure if I intend to modify the universe, or to leave it in one of its many incarnations. I may well do a crossover of Rejuve and something else, one of the best stories I know is The Re-education of Tommy Weasley, a Rejuve and Harry Potter crossover, which is on ff.net, and on the yahoo groups.

I might do a crossover of Rejuve and M*A*S*H, or All Ssaints, or any other story I'm fond of. I don't really know, but it will be fun to find out. Stick around for the ride.

Oh, and if anyone actually reads this colossal case of literary diarhhea, a couple of comments would be nice. Some of you here know me from my previous two blogs, 17ED Forever and Terri's Rambles. This blog focuses on my life as a spanko, as far as it goes. It will be mainly things I find interesting about the spanko community, blogs I like reading, my favourite spanking stories and sites, and general stuff like that.

It might interest you to know that I am not certain whether or not I'm a top or a bottom. I find both sides interesting, but I think I need to be in control too much to allow myself to be a bottom. Then I talk about what my life as a kid was like, and the spanko community tells me that is abhorrent, and that in a spanking relationship, no matter how much it appears that the top is in charge, the bottom really calls the shots. The bottom is the one who approves or refuses all instruments, positions and other aspects. That's part of being a top, I was told. Knowing what your bottom can, or is willing, to take, and not overstepping that boundary. A top who does overtstep that boundeary is a bad top, should not have control over a person, and their behaviour is abhorrent. I just wish I believed the people who told me that.

Hopefully this blog will update more often than my other two.

Oh, and I just joined the free spanking videos site. Can you believe there's a spanko version of YouTube?! It's LEGAL!!! I'm off to explore it, now. I hope it's as cool as it looks.
